Jerome Blake, a 28-year-old sprinter from sa国际传媒, will compete for Canada as a member of the men's 4x100 metre relay team at the Paris Summer Olympics.听

A sa国际传媒 sprinter is headed to the the Olympic Summer Games in Paris this summer.

Jerome Blake and the other members of Canadasa国际传媒 mensa国际传媒 4x100 metre team qualified for the Olympics after winning a heat with a season-best time of 38.11 seconds at the World Athletic Relays earlier this month in the Bahamas.听

Blake, 28, was also a member of Canadasa国际传媒 4x100 metre relay team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which were delayed until 2021 because of the pandemic. The team won the silver medal.听

Blake was born in Jamaica in 1995 but moved to Canada with his mother and brother in 2013. He graduated from Rutland Senior Secondary before moving to Vancouver, although he still considers sa国际传媒 his hometown.听

In 2016, the 6鈥1鈥 Blake played as a kick returner for the Okanagan Sun junior football team, though he was already aspiring to represent Canada as a sprinter.听

鈥淚f and when I get my citizenship, hopefully I鈥檒l be representing Canada one day with a Maple Leaf on my chest,鈥 he told The Daily Courier at the time. 鈥淭hat's a big goal for me.

Before representing Canada, Blake ran for Team BC at the 2017 Canada Summer Games where he won gold in the 100m and 200m. He won five consecutive BC Athletics 100m titles beginning in 2015. He got his Canadian citizenship in 2018.

Blake's outside interests include working as a model, and working as an actor in film and TV productions, according to his biography on the Canadian Olympic team website.听

The other members of Canadasa国际传媒 mensa国际传媒 4x100 metre team that will compete in Paris are Aaron Brown of Toronto and Andre De Grasse and Brendon Rodney, both of Markham, Ont.听

The 2024 Olympic Summer Games in Paris run from July 24-Aug. 11.
