Retired police officer Macklin McCall is the new MLA for West sa国际传媒-Peachland.
McCall won a landslide victory Saturday with 13,189 total votes (51%). NDPer Krystal Smith managed 7,115 votes (27.6%) while Stephen Johnston, an independent, was third with 5,511 votes (21.3%).
Johnston, originally the BC United candidate, scored one of the highest percentages of independent candidates on Saturday.
McCallsa国际传媒 spokesperson told The Daily Courier Saturday that he would be unavailable on election night for interviews.
