Somebody has to do something about this Ryden Evers...
The West sa国际传媒 Warriors fell 3-2 to the Penticton Vees at the South Okanagan Events Centre on Friday. The Warriors found themselves down by a pair after the opening 20 minutes, as Louie Wehmann and Tristan Petersen were able to get first period markers for the Vees.
West sa国际传媒 was able to fight their way back in the second period, as the "Stillwater Sniper" Sam LeDrew got the monkey of his back, and ended his five game goalless drought. He scored goal #21 on the campaign early in the second period, when Ben Miller fed a beautiful pass across the zone into the slot, where Sammy beat Ethan Buenaventura the glove side to cut the lead in half. Seventeen minutes later, after a great loop around the attacking zone by Philip Monnich Hagen, he fed a pass to LeDrew, who notched his second of the period to tie the game before the end of the period.
The teams would carry the two all tie into the late stages of the final frame, before Vees forward Ryden Evers collected the puck downlow, and worked his way to the front of the goal. His initial bid was turned aside by 脡ddie Gauthier, but Evers was able to find his own rebound, and slip it past the downed Gauthier for his 21st of the season, and the eventual game winner. It was Evers' fourth goal, and second game winner against West sa国际传媒 this season, as the 2024 Fred Page Cup Champion has proven to be West K's kryptonite in head to head matchups against Penticton.
With West sa国际传媒's loss, along with an Okotoks win, the Oilers now move within one point of the Warriors for seventh in the Interior Conference standings. Both clubs will be in action on Saturday night, as the Oilers host the Salmon Arm Silverbacks, while West sa国际传媒 welcomes the Brooks Bandits to RLP for their first ever "We Win, You Win" game. If the Warriors defeat the Bandits, every fan in attendance at Royal LePage Place will receive a voucher for a free ticket to the Warriors final game of the season, March 29th's Fan Appreciation Night game against the Trail Smoke Eaters.
Tickets for Saturday's matchup with the Bandits are available now at
