West sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ Warriors have left Alberta with a split.
After stunning the second-seed Brooks Bandits 4-2 on Friday night, the Warriors got a dose of reality tonight falling 8-2 to the Bandits.
The best-of-seven BCHL opening round playoff series is now knotted at one game apiece heading to West sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ for games on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Luke Bibby led the balanced scoring attack with a pair of goals. Singles went to Caden Drury, Cooper Pierson, Mathis Dufour, Jack Rosensteel, Jack Good, and Michal Liscinsky.
Logan Flint and Jackson Kyrkostas scored in the loss.
The Bandits scored the first four goals of the game by the 15:07 mark in the first period. Flint replied late in the third period and Kyrkostas at 1:07 in the second to cut the lead to 4-2. Thatsa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ as close as the Warriors would get.
Zach Sahara got the win in net making 20 saves.
Edouard Gauthier started the game and made seven of 10 shots in 11:58 of action. Bor Glavic finished the game and made 20 saves plus he stopped Nathan Brown on a penalty shot in the first period.
The split is impressive as four of the eight lower seeds won on the first night of playoffs.
